The Canberra Hellenic Dancers make their mark in Greece

·

The Canberra Hellenic Dancers made a debut 10-day trip to Greece this month, visiting historical sites and performing with dancers from the island of Crete.

They kicked off their first day at the Acropolis in Athens and later danced the night away to the live sounds of Antonis Remos.

The Canberra-based group have also danced their way through Greece, visiting the Corinth Canal, Epidaurus, Mycenae and Nafplio. They even met with John Chrysoulakis, the Secretary General for Greeks abroad and Public Diplomacy.

In an unforgettable experience on Crete, the Canberra Hellenic Dancers joined in during the Tuesday tradition of music and dance at the Old Port of Chania. They joined the Pancretan Association of America and the Chania Traditional Association “Viglatores” for a performance.
