Greek Australian MPs from World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association to visit Ioannina

The World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association’s (PADEE – WHIA) administrative council will be holding sessions in Ioannina, Greece over the next few days, according to Agon.gr.

These sessions come under the initiative of Greece’s President, Kostas Tassoulas.

Those who will be present in Ioannina include President, Senator Leonidas Raptakis from Rhode Island (USA); the First Vice President, Canadian MP Efi Triantafillopoulou; the Second Vice President, Federal Member for Adelaide in South Australia, Steve Georganas MP; and Treasurer, Senator Stefan Pappas from Wyoming (USA).

The World-Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association called for all parliaments to support solutions to the Cyprus problem in July last year.

Federal Member for Calwell, Maria Vamvakinou, is also expected to attend.

While visiting Ioannina, the administrative council members are expected to connect with local authorities. They also plan to visit minority areas of Albania.
