The Good Food Guide has released its best hospitality venues for 2024, announcing Chris Theodosi and Jesse Orleans’ café ‘Happyfield’ in Sydney as Australia’s Café of the Year.

These awards cover a range of categories including Best Restaurant, Best Café, Best Chef and Best Pick of the Year.

The Haberfield café, Happyfield, won ‘Café of the Year’ for their good coffee and for the pride they take in their food, décor and service.

Café Happyfield owners, Chris Theodosi and Jesse Orleans, opened the cafe in late 2020, where they specialised in North American dishes including pancakes, hash browns and sausage-filled muffins.

The Sydney café is known to have a rush of customers every weekend, ranging from dads in trucker caps, influencers in sweatpants and couples looking for a reasonably priced brunch.

As well as their delicious and affordable food, their staff were also known to have great service.

The Good Food Guide described the staff as “always warm and engaged.”
