Saronic Gulf islands named Greece’s top travel destinations for 2023

The islands of the Saronic Gulf have been named Greece’s top island destination for 2023 during the international World Travel Awards.

Islands of the Saronic Gulf include Salamis, Aegina, Poros, Spetses and Hydra.

At the award ceremony in Georgia, the islands came first in the public vote, among the other co-nominated islands of the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, the Ionian islands and the Sporades.

The islands were awarded for their authenticity, their various cultural events and festivals, and the delicious local gastronomy.

The Regional Governor Giorgos Patoulis expressed his satisfaction with the award
