SYRIZA to elect new party leader

Elections to select the new leader of the main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance party will be held Sunday, September 17.

The SYRIZA-PA party announced in a press released on Wednesday, the voting will take place between 8:00am to 8:00pm, reported amna.gr.

According to the press release, anyone above the age of 15 who joins as a member of the main opposing party, SYRIZA-PA, by September 16 or registers as a SYRIZA-PA member on the spot on the day of the elections is eligible to vote.

Members are free to cast their vote at any of the 570 polling stations set up throughout the country, even those outside their electoral precinct, if they have a valid ID document (police ID, passport, driving licence, health passbook, residence permit, visa or blue certificate). The cost of participating in the election is 2.0 euros.

Migrants and those under 17 must present a legal identification document and their AMKA social security number.

Those living abroad can vote in the elections online at the same time as the elections in Greece, provided they are registered party members or register on the isyriza platform by 14:00 (Greek time) on September 14.
