Northcote City FC part ways with senior coach Peter Tsolakis

·

Northcote City FC has confirmed it has parted ways with senior coach, Peter Tsolakis, effective immediately.

In a statement on Facebook, the Club said Tsolakis had “led the team through some difficult years” and it wished him “all the best in his future endeavours.”

Tsolakis was a part of the Northcote family for over 20 years. He first signed as a player in 2003 and took on the coaching duties in 2007 as a player coach.

In 2008, Tsolakis succeeded in winning the State 2 South East title and immediately backed that up with success in 2009, capturing the State 1 title and seeing the Club promoted back to the VPL.

In 2010, the club gained its first finals appearance and won its first top-flight silverware in the 2011 Mirabella Cup.

Upon his return in 2019, Tsolakis led the team through two COVID-hit seasons. He leaves the Club with the senior men’s team currently in sixth position on the leaderboard, having won six of 16 matches.
