Chris Minns sworn in as new Premier of NSW

·

Chris Minns has officially become the 47th Premier of NSW during a swearing in ceremony at NSW Government House on Tuesday.

Mr Minns and his senior ministry – deputy Prue Car, transport minister Jo Haylen, treasurer Daniel Mookhey, environment minister Penny Sharpe and health minister Ryan Park – all took an oath in front of the NSW Governor Margaret Beazley and signed official papers.

The swearing in ceremony comes as it appears the new Labor government will not hold a majority in parliament.

NSW Labor currently hold 45 seats, two less than required to form a majority government.

Three independent members of the crossbench last night guaranteed to give the premier-elect “confidence and supply” in the event he does not secure the remaining seats.

More to come.
