Young students from the Greek School of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory dressed up in Christmas hats and elf ears to celebrate the end of term on Friday, December 2.
The school Christmas party was held to celebrate the students’ achievements over the past year and to acknowledge the hard work of the Greek school teachers.
The event began with a small prayer from Father Petros Kipouros, the parish priest at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Canberra.
This was followed by a speech from the President of the Greek Orthodox Community of Canberra (GOCC) and Principal of the Greek School, John Loukadellis, who congratulated students and teachers on upholding the Greek culture and language.
Next to the stage were a number of young students who sang traditional carols such as ‘Jingle Bells’ and also more unique songs like ‘Baby Shark.’
The Christmas celebration was concluded with gifts for the students and students.
