Greek grandmothers host loukoumades workshop at Odyssey Festival in Adelaide

·

This year, the Odyssey Greek Festival in Adelaide, South Australia, hosted a free ‘Loukoumades with Yiayiades’ cooking workshop at the Dormition of Theotokos Community Hall in Croydon.

The workshop was for anyone who wanted to learn, cook and eat their loukoumades creations.

Nearly 80 people took part in the masterclass demonstration with the support of Greek South Australian “community legends,” Yiayia Efstathia and Yiayia Georgia.

“Some people call them superheroes, we call them Yiayiades!” a post on Facebook by the festival organisers said.

“No one should embark on an Odyssey without loukoumades, especially when Yiayia Georgia is on speed dial!”

The Odyssey Greek Festival is being run by the Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia (GOCSA) and will include many more enjoyable activities until Sunday, November 12.
