The Samian Brotherhood of Sydney and New South Wales ‘Lykourgos’ hosted a dance on Sunday, September 22 to celebrate Father’s Day at the Saint George Sailing Club.

Members and friends honoured the occasion with their presence. The event showed how Father’s Day is not only about fathers, but about fatherhood in general and the contribution of dads to society.

In a speech by Samian Brotherhood President Emanuel Valageorgiou, he welcomed everyone to the event on behalf of the Board of Directors, expressing gratitude for their attendance and support of the Samian Brotherhood.

The Samian Brotherhood celebrate Father's Day

Vice President Soula Gerasimou welcomed the members and friends, emphasising that Father’s Day is a gesture of honour and love, not only to our own fathers or grandfathers, but to all dads and grandfathers around the world, for their contributions as fathers to society.

She also noted the impeccable organisation and hospitality extended to the guests, as well as the DJ.

The organisation was flawless. The Committee of the Samian Brotherhood gave their all to make this event unforgettable, and they promised that there will be future gatherings just as dynamic so that members and friends can enjoy.

The presence of Christina Sarigiannis Nalbandoff from Marathokampos was particularly touching. She has been in Sydney since 1956, but due to living 5-6 hours away, she has been unable to attend Brotherhood events.

With tears in her eyes, she moved all the attendees and thanked them for this unique moment. Members and friends applauded and embraced her warmly.
