Kay Pavlou’s ‘Two Homelands’ to bring Cypriot voices to the Greek Film Festival

The acclaimed documentary Two Homelands, directed by Kay Pavlou, will screen in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane this October as part of the 2025 Greek Film Festival.

The film has received outstanding reviews for its sensitive exploration of Cypriot migration to Australia, particularly following the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Through deeply personal stories, Two Homelands captures the struggles and triumphs of Cypriots who left their homeland seeking safety and a better future, while continuing to nurture an enduring bond with Cyprus.

Blending interviews, archival material, and cinematic storytelling, the documentary shines a light on the broader human experience of displacement, resilience, and identity – themes that continue to resonate across generations of the diaspora.

Audiences in Brisbane will also have the special opportunity to meet director Kay Pavlou in person during the screening and Q&A session.
