Blue Mountains adventure for Chalkidiki Brotherhood of NSW

·

On Monday, March 15, members of the Greek Brotherhood of Chalkidiki “Aristotelis” of New South Wales travelled on a bus day trip to Richmond, Hawkesbury and the Blue Mountains.

During their excursion, the group visited the iconic sandstone Three Sisters rock formation, picked fresh apples, and stopped at a scenic lookout which overlooked the surrounding landscape.

This visit to the Blue Mountains follows previous events by the Chalkidiki Brotherhood, including a festive picnic held last year at Carss Park, Sydney, which was attended by nearly 100 members.

Established in 1962, the Chalkidiki Brotherhood is an incorporated association and a long-standing member of the Pan-Macedonian Association of NSW. It uniquely remains the only association in NSW representing Greeks from the Chalkidiki region.

The day trip was organised by the Chalkidiki Brotherhood’s committee, including President Costa Dantos, Vice President Jenny Kaporis, Secretary Alexandra Poulos, Treasurer John Tratselas, and committee members Artemis Kelezis, Bill Dantos, Carol Stavropoulos, George Tratselas, Joanna Arnis, Katherine Theofanopoulos and Vicky Tsakirou.

In a post on their Facebook page, the Chalkidiki Brotherhood described the day as a memorable experience.

“We had the best time today in Richmond, the Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains region,” they shared. “We had perfect weather too with no wind, humidity, rain or clouds!”

The organisation also thanked its members, friends and families for attending, with special mention given to the Arnis, Dantos, Diavatiotis, Georgalas, Kelezis, Makridis, Malagaras, Nikitianos, Stamatiou and Tratselas families. The group was also joined by Panos Frangos, who is visiting from Galarinos in Chalkidiki.
