Glendi Greek Festival poster exhibition opens in South Australia

·

‘The Poster Exhibition of Glendi Greek Festival, 1978-2010’ is now open to the public at the West Torrens Auditorium Gallery, Hamra Centre in Hilton, South Australia.

The poster exhibition is an initiative of the Greek Museum of Adelaide Inc.

The opening weekend of the exhibition saw Board Members of the Museum, politicians such as Tom Koutsantonis MP, and members of the local Greek community visit the gallery to take in the posters on display.

The posters on display were used in the past to promote Adelaide’s Glendi Greek Festival. The Glendi was originally established in 1978 as a fundraising event between the Lions Club of Adelaide Hellenic Inc. and West Torrens Football Club.

Since then, it has grown to be known as the largest ethnic festival in SA. It is also arguably one of the original ‘food and wine’ festivals in the state.

Those interested in seeing the poster exhibition can visit the exhibition during the Harma Library opening hours. The exhibition will run until May 25.
