The much-anticipated Sydney talk by Dr Stavros Paspalas, The Monuments of the Athenian Acropolis in the First Century of the Modern Greek State, has been postponed due to industrial action.
The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) will hold a strike on Wednesday, April 5, which will affect access to the venue – the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens at the University of Sydney.
The free public lecture was part of the Greek Festival of Sydney this year.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and would like to express our gratitude for your patience and understanding in this matter,” the Greek Festival of Sydney said in a press release.
“Our team is actively working to reschedule the event, and we will notify you of the new date as soon as possible.”
