A modern Greek cafe by day, the Laurel Leaf Bistro is bringing the heart of Greece to McMahons Point at night as they introduce ‘Ouzaria’.
Nestled in the heart of the historical art precinct of Sydney’s North, the Laurel Leaf hopes to explore Greek cuisine a little deeper while chilling out with a glass of wine surrounded by beautiful pieces of art.
Business owner, Anna Con, tells The Greek Herald how the idea came to mind as she regularly experiments with different food journeys and ideas and how her regular customers would always ask her to stay open for them to relax after work.
“We are the only Euro style shop on the street, as the other few businesses around us are small takeaways and a Chinese restaurant,” Anna says.
The menu celebrates Australian elements with a Greek twist and includes a range of seafood dishes as Anna pays tribute to her Simi and Rhodian roots.
“Seafood is a massive part of our life,” she says.
Your night of a journey to Greece through food will be complete with the “playing of bouzoukia, a splash of Marinella and a couple shots of retsina.”
‘Ouzaria’ is open to the public on Monday nights and available for private dinner bookings every other night of the week.
Laurel Leaf Bistro is located at 67 Union Street McMahons Point and bookings can be made by texting 0413 877 197.
