Former Socceroos coach, Ange Postecoglou, has been named ‘Manager of the Year’ by the Managers and Coaches Association of Scotland.

Postecoglou beat Ross County’s Malky Mackay, Arbroath’s Dick Campbell and Cove Rangers’ Paul Hartley to the award, which was announced at PFA Scotland’s annual awards dinner in Glasgow.

The award recognition comes after his first successful season at the helm of Celtic FC.

The Australian is closing in on the Scottish Premiership title, having engineered a six-point lead over Old Firm rivals Rangers with three fixtures remaining.

Postecoglou has already won the League Cup in his first season at Parkhead.

At the award ceremony, Celtic captain Callum McGregor was also named PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year, beating his Australian teammate Tom Rogic, Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon and Ross County attacker Regan Charles-Cook.
