Kyrgios to donate $200 for every ace hit in summer competitions to people affected by the bushfire crisis

·

Greek Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has announced on Twitter that he will donate money for every ace hit across all summer competitions. For every ace, Kyrgios will donate $200 to people affected by the bushfire crisis across Australia.

The tweet comes after Kyrgios proposed a charity exhibition match to Tennis Australia, which would raise funds for those affected by the fires.

After astounding public acclaim for the proposal, Kyrgios has taken it into his own hands to raise money for those affected by the national tragedy.

The rising Australian tennis professional Alex De Minaur has also jumped onto the charitable cause, donating $250 per ace. “I like this I will go $250 per ace, just because I don’t think I’ll be hitting as many aces as you mate. #dropthehammer”, the Australian youngster said on Twitter.

Along with De Minaur, Australian tennis player John Millman tweeted saying that he will donate an additional $100 for every ace hit over the Australian summer.

The bushfires continue to rage across NSW, Victoria and parts of Queensland. In the past 2 days, seven lives have tragically been taken.

With weather conditions forecast to hit dangerous temperatures of above 40 degrees Celsius over the weekend, authorities have warned holiday-goers to get out of large areas along the state’s southern coast in the coming days.
