Brain Cancer Group to host 9th annual awareness raising event at NSW Parliament

The Brain Cancer Group (TBCG) will host its 9th Annual Awareness Raising Event at NSW Parliament House on Wednesday, May 27, bringing together leading medical specialists, researchers, patients, carers and supporters to discuss the latest developments in brain cancer research and treatment.

This year’s event, titled “Learning from Lung Cancer: New Frontiers in Brain Cancer Research, Detection and Treatment,” will explore how advances in lung cancer research are helping shape new directions in brain cancer care, treatment and early detection.

The event will be hosted at Parliament House, Sydney, by Parliamentary Host Sophie Cotsis and will feature presentations from some of Australia’s leading medical experts and researchers in oncology and brain cancer research.

The Brain Cancer Group was established in 2000 by eminent neurosurgeons Raymond Cook and Michael Biggs on the Royal North Shore Hospital campus. Since then, the organisation has continued to fund and support impactful programs across three key pillars: Research, Education and Support for patients and carers.

The annual Parliament House event has become an important platform for raising awareness about brain cancer, supporting patients and families, and encouraging ongoing investment in research and treatment innovation.

Community members, supporters, medical professionals, and media representatives are warmly invited to attend.
