Consul General of Greece in Sydney meets with NSW Governor

George Skemperis, the newly appointed Consul General of Greece in Sydney, was formally received by Her Excellency Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, on Wednesday, October 29.

During the meeting, the Governor commended the Greek Australian community for their enduring contributions across NSW, noting their cultural, social, and economic influence.

She also extended her best wishes to Mr Skemperis for his tenure, emphasising the importance of continued collaboration between the Greek diplomatic mission and local communities.

In response, Mr Skemperis expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, highlighting the value of fostering strong connections between Greece and its diaspora in Australia.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen community engagement and diplomatic ties within the state.
