Vickie Vrynios’ popular SA clothing store to close after 26 years

·

After 26 years in business, Urban Girl Clothing in Kurralta Park, South Australia will close its doors this month as owner Vickie Vrynios retires.

On Instagram, Vrynios said the decision was bittersweet: “I feel incredibly lucky to have been part of something so meaningful for so long. Now it’s time for a new chapter but I leave with so much gratitude and so much love.”

She reflected on the friendships formed with generations of customers, from schoolgirls to young mothers, adding that these relationships would continue beyond the shop’s closure.

Social media has been flooded with messages of sadness and well-wishes, with many thanking Vrynios for her warmth and dedication.

Looking ahead, she plans to travel and spend more time with her family. The store’s current site at Mortimer Street will soon become home to a new business, Aleki Hair & Beauty.
