Michael Jordan praises Greece in Athens speech at Nike event

·

Basketball legend Michael Jordan delivered a heartfelt speech praising Greece while hosting an exclusive dinner in Athens for Nike’s “Board of Greatness” event.

Speaking to a crowd of 100 guests – including NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, Luka Dončić, Bam Adebayo, Zion Williamson, Paolo Banchero and Rui Hachimura – Jordan reflected on his recent visit to the Greek islands and celebrated the country’s legacy.

“Greece is the homeland of ancient gods, where legendary heroes were born, and where the idea of greatness first emerged,” he said, calling it a fitting place to shape the future of the Jordan Brand.

Citing Greece’s historic role as the birthplace of the Olympic Games and modern sports, Jordan emphasised the importance of coming together to “set the tone for where the Jordan Brand is heading” and closed by thanking the athletes: “You are the key to where we go next, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together.”
