EU and Australia enhance cooperation on critical raw materials

The European Union (EU) and Australia have enhance cooperation on critical raw materials after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, May 28.

The MoU for the partnership on Critical Raw Materials was signed by EU Executive Vice President and Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, EU Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, and their Australian counterparts, Resources and Northern Australia Minister Madeleine King and Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell.

According to a Facebook post by ‘European Union in Australia,’ the MoU will strengthen the EU’s “strategic sectors” and ensure “a secure, responsible supply of vital resources, while boosting investment in Australia.”

“This partnership is based on our mutual values and interests, paving the way for a sustainable and prosperous future,” the FB post added.
