Greece’s Foreign Minister calls for humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza

·

The Foreign Affairs Minister of Greece, Giorgos Gerapetritis, called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza on Monday, November 13.

According to AMNA.gr, the ceasefire would allow the wounded to be treated and transported to hospitals outside of Gaza.

Mr Gerapetritis made his proposal at the Foreign Affairs Council meeting held in Brussels.

He also proposed the need for something to be done to restore basic networks and secure essential goods to those in need in Gaza.

“It is understandable that the humanitarian ceasefire is not enough, but that it is necessary and realistic at this stage, even if it only happens in a small scale,” Mr Gerapetritis.

“This could generate a momentum for ending the hostilities.”
