Greek and Turkish leaders discuss ongoing Palestine and Israel conflict

Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke over the phone on Monday to discuss the ongoing Palestine- Israel conflict, as well as human rights violations between Israeli forces and Hamas.

The phone call comes following the recent terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7.

According to Ekathimerini, Mitsotakis highlighted during the call the need to prevent a humanitarian crisis and to maintain regional stability.

President Erdogan shared how Turkey remains committed to their efforts of helping de-escalate the situation. He also highlighted the importance of regional countries preserving peace and proactively preventing conflicts and human rights violations 

Now, 10 days into the ongoing conflict from Palestinian group Hamas, more than one million people from Gaza have been displaced. Reports showed that Gaza is now experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis with no electricity. Water, food, fuel, and medical supplies are also running low in supply.
