The foundation’s mission is to help cover the financial and out-of-pocket expenses for the treatment of those suffering a life-threatening illness.

With the generous support of partners and donors, the Jenny Souris Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to making a positive impact on families dealing with critical illnesses.

This year, the organisation will provide vital assistance to three families facing immense challenges. Through the collective efforts of the community, the support will aim to create a profound and lasting impact on their lives.

Co-founder of the Jenny Souris Foundation, Maria Souris, shared her enthusiasm in the lead up to the event “We’re very proud to continue supporting families through the foundation.”

“We hope to get as many people as possible to our fundraising event so we can raise enough money to help even more families”.

The JSF was established in 2021 in honour of Maria’s late mother, Jenny Souris, who passed away in 2020, losing her 10-year battle with metastatic breast cancer and chronic myeloid leukaemia.

Jenny battled illness for 10 years and credits her previous extra years to a team of wonderful doctors and health professionals and, of course, a strong will to survive. However, living for a decade with life-threatening illnesses came with financial restraints.

A pivotal part of Jenny’s journey, was being gifted extra years because of her financial ability to fund any treatment that was offered to her. It was bittersweet for Jenny, as her family and friends recall the anguish Jenny experienced when speaking about how blessed she was in being able to receive the care she did when others simply could not afford to.
