HelleniQ Energy and Chevron partner in offshore Greece tender

·

HelleniQ Energy has partnered with Chevron to bid for exploration and production rights in four offshore blocks south of Crete and the Peloponnese, following a call for tenders by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

The offer was submitted on Wednesday, September 10, in line with tender rules. For Chevron, the bid marks a new entry into Greece, while for HelleniQ Energy it expands existing exploration and production activities.

Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou said the consortium’s participation “marks a new chapter in the utilisation of Greece’s undersea energy resources,” strengthening energy security and highlighting Greece’s geopolitical role in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The international tender was launched after Chevron first expressed interest in the blocks.
