Greece celebrated Europe Day 2023 with and event at the Athens Conservatory on Tuesday May 9.

According to AMNA News, Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke at the event and said the country’s accession to the European community 42 years ago was “its greatest decision in post-junta history.”

Greece was accepted by the European communities on May 28, 1980, through the efforts of Constantine Karamanlis, former prime minister and president of Greece and founder of the New Democracy party.
