Oakleigh Grammar launches Term 4 with recognition, reflection, and a global vision

·

Oakleigh Grammar proudly welcomed the start of Term 4 with a meaningful commencement assembly, bringing the school community together to celebrate staff dedication, student achievement, and exciting global opportunities.

The assembly began by acknowledging staff members returning from maternity and long service leave, as well as celebrating significant staff service milestones, recognising their ongoing dedication to Oakleigh Grammar.

The Principal and School Chaplain invited each staff member to the stage to personally acknowledge their years of dedicated service. From ten to an impressive thirty-five years, their dedication reflects the strong culture and values that continue to shape the Oakleigh Grammar community.

Staff Service Recognition:

  • 10 Years – Mrs Mplatsis
  • 15 Years – Mr Wengier
  • 35 Years – Mr Panagopoulos

Oakleigh Grammar celebrated a major milestone, becoming a fully-fledged Round Square school. Mrs Rebecca Bettiol, Mr Manoj Patel, Principal Mark Robertson, and eight students attended the 2025 Round Square International Conference (RSIC) in Dubai, themed “Beyond the Dunes”.

During the assembly, the Principal also presented the Round Square flag to the school, while Mrs Bettiol, Round Square Coordinator, shared her reflections on the conference, highlighting the leadership, service, and global connections developed through participation. The delegation’s return with the flag symbolises Oakleigh Grammar’s commitment to the Round Square IDEALS of Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service.

The assembly also highlighted student achievement, with Year 11 student Tony delivering a musical performance that showcased the vibrant talent within the Oakleigh Grammar community.

Adding to the excitement, Mr Greg Joyce announced that Oakleigh Grammar will participate in the 2026 National Schools Event (NSE), to be hosted by St Euphemia College, Bankstown. This event will provide students with opportunities to develop teamwork, demonstrate sportsmanship, and engage at a national level.

With Term 4 now underway, Oakleigh Grammar remains committed to fostering a culture where students and staff are encouraged to Aim High and Achieve More, embracing both local and global opportunities.
