Novak Djokovic reportedly considering move to Athens via Golden Visa program

·

Tennis great Novak Djokovic is reportedly considering relocating to Greece, following a recent visit to Athens where he dined privately with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The two were seen at a high-end seafood restaurant in Kolonaki on Friday evening, sparking further speculation about the Serbian star’s future plans.

This visit comes days after a video surfaced showing Djokovic in the northern Athens suburb of Kifissia, where he was reportedly touring local schools for his children, Stefan and Tara.

Rumours suggest Djokovic is eyeing a permanent move to Greece, possibly through the country’s Golden Visa program, which grants residency to non-EU citizens through a minimum €250,000 real estate investment. The program allows for family inclusion and renewable five-year permits.

While unconfirmed, the move would follow alleged tensions between Djokovic and the Serbian government after he expressed support for recent student protests.

Djokovic has long expressed affection for Greece and its culture—recently seen dancing to the Zorba tune on TikTok—and is a frequent visitor.

As he nears the end of his record-breaking career, which includes 24 Grand Slam titles and a “Golden Slam” completed with Olympic gold in 2024, Djokovic may be looking to settle in a place that reflects both personal values and lifestyle preferences.
