Greek students in Sydney celebrate Greece’s National Day

Greek students across Sydney have held events this week to celebrate Greek Independence Day ahead of March 25.

This is how St Euphemia College in Bankstown, All Saints Grammar School in Belmore and St Spyridon College in Kingsford celebrated.

St Euphemia College:

Students in Years 3 to 6 from St Euphemia College in Bankstown, Sydney performed a variety of items to commemorate Greek Independence Day.

The students showcased their dancing talents, recited poems and sang some beautiful patriotic songs.

Greek teachers prepared an enjoyable program and dancing teachers, Lina and Stavroula, provided students with their dancing costumes.

All Saints Grammar School:

Students from the Primary Choir of All Saints Grammar School were invited as special guests to perform the Australian and Greek National Anthems at a Greek Independence Day event organised by the City of Canterbury Bankstown on Tuesday.

The students celebrated with the local Greek Community at Earlwood Senior Citizens Centre.

St Spyridon College:

Students of St Spyridon College

Students of St Spyridon College in Kingsford participated in a Junior Campus Assembly on Thursday.

During the assembly, Year 6 students spoke about the significance of Greek Independence Day, recited poems and sung hymns and songs. Kindergarten sang the classic song of the time: “Feggaraki mou lambro.”
