GOCNSW farewells long-serving General Manager Alkis Dracopoulos

·

The Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales (GOCNSW) has lost an esteemed member of its team with the retirement of General Manager Alkis Dracopoulos after 14 years of tremendous service.

Mr Dracopoulos has committed himself to ensuring the smooth operations of the Community, overlooking its various departments and sectors for well over a decade and assisting in numerous roles that are too many to list.

The respected member of the Community’s staff has truly stood out as an important cog in the well-oiled machine that is the GOCNSW, leaving with his head held high as he enters a new stage of his life: well-earned retirement.

GOCNSW President Harry Danalis praised Mr Dracopoulos for his excellent work and service as General Manager.

“Mr Dracopoulos has been a loyal employee of the GOCNSW for well over a decade. During that time, he has shown a commitment to the organisation and love for the work of the Committee,” Mr Danalis said.

Replacing Mr Dracopoulos as General Manager is Vicki Tomaras, who is herself a long-serving member of the Community’s staff that has worked for the organisation in many roles over the past 13 years.

“Vicki has also served the Community in various roles over the last 13 years. She has worked in the Hostel, worked as a teacher and as the Education Co-ordinator, and has been a supporter of all the activities of the Community,” Mr Danalis said.

“The Board believes she will continue to be a valued member of the Community in her new role as General Manager.”

The President and the Board of Directors sincerely thanked Mr Dracopoulos for his services, professionalism and dedication to the Community and wish him the best for the future.

Likewise, the President and the Board congratulated Ms Tomaras on her new appointment, believing strongly that she will handle the role with the same professionalism and dedication exhibited by Mr Dracopoulos.
