The commemorations will honour the memory of the victims and survivors of the Greek Genocide “through prayer, remembrance, and unity.”

A memorial prayer service will be held from 9:30am to 11:00am at the Cathedral of Our Lady Axion Estin, located at 7 Hartington Street, Northcote.

A wreath laying ceremony will follow at 11:30am at the Monument to the Fallen at the Cathedral precinct.

Refreshments will be served in the Main Hall following the ceremony.

Organisers encouraged members of the wider community to attend and “stand together in remembrance and preserve the history and legacy of the Greeks of Pontos.”
