Greek Orthodox schools honour top HSC achievers at Sydney ceremony

·

High-achieving students from Sydney’s Greek Orthodox schools were formally recognised this week for their outstanding results in the 2025 NSW Higher School Certificate examinations.

The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday, February 17, at the Great Hall of St Andrew’s Theological College, where students from St Euphemia College, All Saints Grammar and St Spyridon College were honoured for their academic excellence.

Representing His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the ceremony was led by His Grace Bishop Christophoros of Kerasounta, Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

Bishop Christophoros conveyed the Archbishop’s congratulations and blessings, encouraging students to continue building their futures on the spiritual foundations formed during their schooling, while remaining connected to the Church and their school communities.

The annual ceremony, organised by the Educational Council of the Archdiocese, was attended by the Consul General of Greece in Sydney, George Skemperis, along with clergy, school principals and teachers, and the families of the award recipients.
