The Hellenic Theatre Inc. to present ‘The Community Circle’ in Sydney

The Hellenic Theatre Inc., under the auspices of the Greek Atlas League, is proudly presenting the play The Community Circle (Ο Κύκλος με την Παροικία) by the late journalist and author Dimitris Oikonomou.

Performances will be held at the Greek Atlas Club in Marrickville, Sydney across two weekends in May.

This special production marks ten years since Oikonomou’s passing and serves as a heartfelt tribute to his literary legacy.

Set to original music by Evangelos Papageorgiou and directed by Nikos Antonoglou, The Community Circle is a sharp and entertaining theatrical satire exploring the many layers of life in the Greek Australian community.

About the play:

The Community Circle unfolds through five one-act plays, each presenting a vivid, satirical snapshot of Greek diaspora life. From generational clashes and migration journeys to sharp-witted community figures and deceptive fortune tellers, the play offers both humour and insight into the cultural tensions and truths that shape Greek identity in Australia.

This production invites audiences to laugh, reflect, and celebrate the vibrancy of the Greek community through the enduring power of theatre.
