Greece has prepared snipers, drones and 3,500 police officers for the upcoming visit of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday, December 7.
According to Ekathimerini, Erdogan will be coming to participate in the Greece-Turkey Supreme Cooperation Council.
He will join Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to discuss matters of interest between Greece and Turkey.
Ahead of the meeting, Greek government spokesperson, Pavlos Marinakis, said it will make no concessions on its sovereign rights.
“We anticipate another significant step to be taken to consolidate a climate of dialogue. The only point of difference between us is the delineation of Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) and the continental shelf,” Mr Marinakis said.
“We approach these talks without any intention of conceding our sovereign rights. While our disagreements are acknowledged, they should not escalate into crises.
“We remain steadfast in our claims without compromising our sovereign rights.”
