St George Basketball announces biggest-ever 2026 representative program

·

St George Basketball has announced the conclusion of its 2026 Junior and Senior Representative Trials, marking the association’s biggest and most competitive trials to date. An outstanding number of athletes participated, all eager to wear the Saints colours and represent the local community.

Across all age groups, the enthusiasm, energy and skill on display highlighted the continued growth and momentum of St George Basketball. With increased demand and more athletes striving for representative opportunities, the strength of the Saints community has never been clearer.

St George Basketball will field 12 Junior Teams and five Senior Teams for the 2026 season. The volume of athletes who trialled was such that additional teams could have been formed if space and competition structures allowed.

This level of participation reflects the trust families place in the association’s programs and the strong reputation built by its coaching staff, volunteers and leadership team.

A growing and diverse basketball community

One of St George Basketball’s greatest strengths is its identity as the most multicultural basketball association in NSW. The organisation reflects the cultural richness of the local community, with this year’s selections again highlighting that diversity.

In particular, St George Basketball is proud of the strong representation of players with Greek heritage, many of whom have progressed through the junior pathways and continued into Youth League and Senior Men’s programs. Their selection reflects the success of the association’s long-term development model and its commitment to nurturing athletes from all backgrounds.
