Giannis Antetokounmpo signs $186 million extension deal with Milwaukee Bucks

·

Greek-Nigerian professional basketball player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has signed a massive, history- making US$186 million ($293 million AUD) contract extension with the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks.

Antetokounmpo, also known as the “Greek Freak”, broke the news on X yesterday.

According to Fox Sports, the contract is worth an average of $US62.88 million per season, making it the most lucrative of its kind in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

It’s a huge victory for the Bucks, especially after Antetokounmpo put pressure on the prevailing team to maintain his position in the race for the NBA championship, also motivating the acquisition of Portland Trail Blazer, Damian Lillard.
