Australian cricketer Peter Hatzoglou signs short-term deal with British club

·

Australian cricketer, Peter Hatzoglou, has signed for British club, Glamorgan, for at least three matches after the departure of compatriot Michael Neser to a national training camp.

According to BBC, Hatzoglou, 24, has played in the Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades and will make his Glamorgan debut at Somerset in the T20 Blast on Sunday.

Hatzoglou has played 40 T20 matches in his career, including a stint at Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan. He has taken 42 wickets, although he has not featured in any first-class cricket.

Peter Hatzoglou currently holds a replacement contract with the Melbourne Renegades.

Hatzoglou had just arrived for a spell in Essex club cricket before Glamorgan made their move.

“It’s a fast-moving world in the T20 arena, I don’t know how long I’ll be here for but I’m really excited to play and make an impact,” Hatzoglou said in an interview with BBC Sport Wales.

Hatzoglou will be in line to face Middlesex away on May 31 and Kent at home on June 2, with any extension depending on his contribution and Neser’s availability.
