Ange Postecoglou hits out at Spurs hierarchy

·

Ange Postecoglou has delivered a sharp assessment of Tottenham Hotspur’s ownership, accusing the club of lacking ambition and strategic clarity following his dismissal.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, he said the club’s reluctance to invest heavily in top-tier players was the “antithesis” of its motto, To Dare is To Do, bluntly adding: “They’re not a big club.”

Postecoglou questioned the absence of a clear footballing direction behind the club’s frequent managerial changes.

“You look at that list of names, and there isn’t really a common thread through there as to what they’re trying to do,” he said.

While acknowledging Spurs’ world-class stadium and facilities, he argued they have failed to match that ambition in the transfer market.

“When Arsenal need players, they’ll spend 100 million on Declan Rice. I don’t see Tottenham doing that,” he said.

He also expressed disbelief at being dismissed after delivering Europa League success, suggesting the decision undermined the progress he believed he had made.
