New entertainment zone ‘Arcadia’ opens at the Hellenic Club of Canberra

·

The Hellenic Club of Canberra at Woden has opened a new entertainment zone with more than 25 attractions for Canberra residents.

Set across 260 square metres below the club bistro, Arcadia is a state-of-the-art space featuring interactive adventures, simulators, and VR.

With more than three decades in the arcade industry, Nick Vasiliou from Happydays Amusements knows that a successful arcade relies on atmosphere just as much as the games on offer.

“I expect parents will feel pretty nostalgic coming in here,” Nick said.

“We have basketball machines, driving simulators, VR, pinball, claw machines, air hockey tables… there’s a great mix of entertainment to suit a huge range of ages and interests.

“Obviously, kids come for the games, but they stick around for the experience. It’s all about colour, light, sound, movement and laughing with friends and family.”

Arcadia is cashless and uses a prepaid card system and will be staffed in the evenings and on weekends if parents are unable to supervise.

The entertainment zone will feature some well-known titles like Mario Kart and Jurassic Park, alongside new games. Prizes can also be claimed after receiving points on different games and range from keyrings and accessories to novelty toys and LEGO.

The Hellenic Club’s COO Mick Douros encourages parents to get involved in the fun as well.

“Arcadia is a dynamic space where children can immerse themselves in play and create fun, memorable moments. It’s designed to bring families together, with parents encouraged to join in and share the experience,” Douros said.

“We have a space for the littlest Arcadians with some free games for relaxed play. For parents who want to step away briefly, our food outlets are conveniently located nearby.

“A dedicated party room has also been developed, with catered birthday packages for Arcadians coming soon.”
