Jimmy Coumvoulidis faces murder charge over fatal Dandenong stabbing

·

Jimmy Coumvoulidis, 34, from Blackburn South, has faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of a man found stabbed outside a Dandenong service station earlier this month.

Coumvoulidis appeared alongside co-accused Aydin Korkmaz, 27, from Doveton, after the death of a 39-year-old man who collapsed outside the BP on the corner of Potter Street and the Princes Highway about 4.50am on August 19. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene, but he died shortly after.

Police allege the man was stabbed at a nearby residence before fleeing and collapsing at the service station. Detectives believe the attack was targeted and that the victim knew his alleged killers.

Coumvoulidis and Korkmaz were remanded in custody to reappear in court next year.

A 33-year-old Endeavour Hills woman was arrested during the investigation but later released without charge pending further inquiries.
