Dimitri Batisatados charged after police raid Sydney mansion in drug supply probe

Dimitri Batisatados has been charged with multiple serious drug offences following a police raid on a multimillion-dollar property in Rozelle, Sydney’s inner west, as part of an ongoing drug supply investigation.

According to The Australian, NSW Police officers, including sniffer dogs from the Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, executed a search warrant at the Nelson Street home around 6am on Wednesday, April 14.

Batisatados, 33, was arrested at the scene and taken to Newtown Police Station, where he was refused police bail.

He was later denied bail again by a magistrate at Downing Centre Local Court, facing 12 charges including seven counts of supplying a prohibited drug (greater than indictable quantity), one count of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, one count of supply prohibited drug (greater than commercial quantity), one count of participate in criminal group contribute criminal activity and two counts of supplying (greater than small, less than indictable).

Batisatados, a Holy Cross College Ryde graduate, is understood to have inherited the home with a relative about a decade ago after the death of his parents.

Neighbours reported being awoken by loud noises as police forced entry. Some claimed officers were also seeking a relative of Batisatados believed to be in Bali.

One local resident described Batisatados as coming from a “good solid family.”

He is scheduled to return to court on July 8.
