Elon Musk incredibly captivated by the story of the Iliad

·

In two consecutive posts written by Elon Musk on his X page, he has spoken about his fascination and enthusiasm whilst reading Homers The Iliad.

“The incredibly captivating story that is The Iliad was meant to be spoken, so listen to it,” the tech mogul wrote on his page on Sunday and repeating the recommendation ten days later.

In addition to his recommendation, Musk also gave fans an insight into his favourite story from the book by including a clip from the 2004 film Troy directed by Wolfgang Peterson and written by David Benioff.

The clip shows Priam tearfully supplicating himself to Achilles for the return of the body of his beloved son. In Homer’s story Priam is often described as the last king of Troy who is old, powerless but kind.

This post is also not the first time that Musk has tweeted about his interest in Greek culture, with the mogul often tweeting in Greek or using the Greek alphabet to form part of his posts.
