All Saints Grammar brings bilingual production of The Wizard of Oz to the stage

·

The talented Performing Arts students of All Saints Grammar School in Belmore will be performing a bilingual production of the Wizard of Oz on Thursday, May 12 at the Parade Theatre NIDA

The production, adapted from L. Frank Baum’s classic novel, is musically directed by Brad Carroll and Phil Lombardo, with choreography by Helen Andreolas, Brad Carroll, Rachael Field and Felicia Stavropoulos.

Head of School, Elfa Lillis.

Head of School, Elfa Lillis, told The Greek Herald she’s looking forward to the production as students and teachers have worked hard to rehearse online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This production is a wonderful collaboration of students and staff showcasing their outstanding skills both on and off stage,” Ms Lillis said.

Directors, Mr Carroll and Mr Lombardo, said the production gives students “the opportunity to experience creative and performing arts in a holistic context.”

“We wanted our students to explore characterisation, dance, movement, drama and music with an experience that demanded technical precision, stylistic expression, and a high level of ensemble awareness,” the directors said.

“The Wizard of Oz, with its diverse characters, allowed us to create this experience for our extremely hardworking and talented students at All Saints Grammar.”

The performance will be held on Thursday, 12 May, at the Parade Theatre NIDA. You can purchase your tickets here at the Ticketek website.
