Sydney student Andrew Katsanis wins Outstanding Youth Award

·

Year 10 All Saints Grammar student Andrew Katsanis of Penshurst has taken out the Outstanding Youth Award at the 2025 Georges River Local Business Awards for his entrepreneurial success with his fragrance sampling business, K&A Fragrances.

The award was presented on July 28 at the Southern Sydney Event Centre in Hurstville in front of more than 600 guests.

At just 15 years of age, Andrew launched his business in November 2024 and has quickly made a name for himself in the niche fragrance market, offering consumers in Australia and abroad the chance to sample international and hard-to-find perfumes before committing to full-size bottles.

K&A Fragrances sells 2ml to 30ml sample sizes, with the option of a subscription model, and includes collaborations with other brands.

Andrew was one of just a few individuals recognised across the Georges River region in the Local Business Awards, which celebrate outstanding contributions to local business and community life. His category, the Outstanding Youth Award, recognises initiative, leadership and achievement among young people aged under 25. His business was also a finalist in the New Business category.

“I was super nervous for the awards as I was the youngest one there by two to three years at least. I was super stoked and surprised when I ended up winning the award, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to showcase my business,” Andrew said.

Head of School at All Saints Grammar, Elfa Lillis, said the School was incredibly proud of Andrew’s achievement, praising his drive, creativity, and commitment to excellence. She noted that Andrew excels academically, represents the school in futsal, and consistently applies himself to his studies.

He credits his mentor, Australian TikTok creator FBFragrances (with more than 700,000 followers), for inspiring his growth and confidence in the business world.

He hopes to continue growing K&A Fragrances, expanding into new markets, collaborating with other brands and developing his own original scent in the future.

Just in case you were wondering… Andrew’s choice of fragrance for the awards night was Angel’s Share Paradis by Kilian.
