All Saints Day is set to be celebrated at Belmore’s Greek Orthodox Church in Sydney on Sunday, June 19 with a Community Fair.
The fair is a free event organised annually by the Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Belmore and District ‘All Saints’ and is well known to the local and the wider community.
On the day, attendees are invited to attend a Hierarchical Matins and Divine Liturgy at 7am presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia followed by the community fair where people can enjoy Greek food, such as souvlaki wraps, and coffee.
For entertainment, fair-goers will have the chance to browse a number of market stalls or watch the students from All Saints Grammar School participate in a number of Greek dancing performances. The school will also host an EVZONE photo exhibition, on display in the Primary Library.
All Saints Grammar was established in 1990 to support families in their quest to introduce and instil Hellenic values and the Orthodox Christian faith to the next generation of Greek Australians and today, it attracts students from many different faiths and backgrounds.
“The feast of our Parish is a significant religious event celebrated annually by the All Saints Community. The day represents our strong connection to the Hellenic culture and Greek Orthodox faith,” Head of All Saints Grammar, Mrs Elfa Lillis, said.
“We look forward to celebrating All Saints Day together as a community and encourage families to come along and enjoy this community fair.”
