Legendary music by Mimis Plessas and Giorgos Zambetas performed in Sydney

·

A tribute show for Greek music legends, Mimis Plessas and Giorgos Zambetas, took place on Sunday, April 2 at the Factory Theatre in Sydney.

The show was part of this year’s Greek Festival of Sydney and featured a 13-piece band under the direction of Nikos Sousamidis.

On the night, the band brought to life the most iconic songs by Plessas and Zambetas and received loud applause from the audience.

In a comment to The Greek Herald after the event, Mr Sousamidis said the tribute show “was an absolute unique moment in time for all of us.”

“The crowd was so enthusiastic and they sang along with us on every song. The orchestra performed in an overwhelmingly generous atmosphere some of the best songs of the two composers,” he said.

“We were so blessed we had this opportunity to contribute with our show to the culture of our Greek community. We would like to thank the Greek Festival of Sydney and Nia Karteris for this collaboration.”
