Meet Tammy Coleman-Zweck: The emerging Kokatha Greek storyteller in SA

·

Born on the West Coast of South Australia, Kokatha Greek Tammy Coleman-Zweck is setting the state’s film industry on fire.

Speaking to the SA Film Corporation (SAFC) to mark NAIDOC week, Tammy opens up about her career highlights in the industry so far and her plans for the future.

Tammy was a scholarship recipient for the Mercury CX Springboard Program, an initiative funded by the SAFC, and was also accepted into the 2022 AFTRS Talent Camp, alongside playwright Elena Carapetis.

Through these programs, Tammy said she was able to co-write and produce a short film about three generations of Indigenous women, Wild at Heart, and is also developing a contemporary supernatural drama, Bountiful.

“I am loving the opportunity to work with Indigenous Directors, actors and crew and continue to explore partnership arrangements,” Tammy said in the interview.

What of her future plans?

Tammy said she would “love to establish a production company and employ local actors and crew to make movies about intergenerational relationships and post-trauma growth.”
