Hellenic Village progress with establishment of Australian Hellenic Future Fund

·

The Board of Hellenic Village has confirmed that the Australian Hellenic Future Fund (AHFF) has been established, creating a pathway for organisations to safeguard the future of the Greek Australian community through charitable giving.

Following a mandate from Hellenic Village unit holder organisations to establish the Fund, and recent information session held earlier in May, the AHFF has been established as a sub-fund within the Australian Philanthropic Services Foundation, a registered charity and Deductible Gift Recipient.

Monies within the AHFF are governed and protected by Australian government legislation, and will support causes including but not limited to education, medical research and youth and aged programs.

After a recent information session held earlier in May, more than $14 million has been pledged from the first seven Hellenic Village unit holder organisations to contribute towards the AHFF, with more organisations to consider their positions on charitable giving over the coming weeks.

The total amount pledged is expected to grow significantly once all Hellenic Village unit holder organisations finalise their positions.

As confirmed through legal advice, over several years, Hellenic Village unit holder organisations are beneficiaries that have absolute entitlement to the proceeds of sale of the land at Kemps Creek / Austral, meaning that decisions on charitable giving remain the responsibility of the organisation in each instance.

The Board strongly encourages all Hellenic Village unit holder organisations to contribute generously to the AHFF, to realise the many years of shared effort and to help make a difference for the future. The AHFF is also open to the public who wish to make tax deductible donations in support of a common and united future for our Greek Australian community.

Please contact Hellenic Village at hellenicvillageltd@gmail.com if you are interested in making a donation to the AHFF and you will be emailed a link, which will ensure that information is processed accurately and a tax receipt is issued to your association or business.

As stated previously, the sale process of the land at Kemps Creek / Austral is currently ongoing and
settlement is expected by November 2026.
