Hellenic culture will be celebrated in Adelaide’s west, with the Thebarton Hellenic Festival returning this weekend.

The surrounds of St George Church at Thebarton will host the 2026 Festival on Saturday, April 25, which will showcase Hellenic culture, community and tradition.

This year’s Festival will commence with an ANZAC Day Commemoration from 12:45pm, honouring Australia and Greece’s lasting alliance and shared sacrifice.

The Festival’s program will run through to the evening, highlighting Hellenic culture that continues to thrive in South Australia.

The program will include:

  • Performances by junior, middle and senior school groups from St George College
  • Traditional dancing from the Messinian Dance School
  • The Cretan Association of SA Dance Group, GOCSA Dance Academy and St George Hellenic Dance Academy
  • Live music and entertainment from leading performers
  • Cultural showcases from Greek school students and community groups
  • Formal addresses recognising the contribution of the Greek community

The event is organised by the Greek Orthodox of St George Thebarton and Western Suburbs Inc and is open to all South Australians.

SA Treasurer and Member for West Torrens Tom Koutsantonis said, “The Hellenic Festival is a fantastic event for all South Australians to experience and embrace Hellenic culture.”

“From Greek music, dance and food, there is something for everyone to enjoy, and I’d encourage all South Australians who are able to come along and enjoy the festivities,” Koutsantonis added.
